Payment is collected each session.
How often will we meet?
Therapy is an individual journey and the power of healing cannot be timestamped; we work together at a pace that is right for you that accommodates your schedule as well as mine. Progress is not linear, so I encourage you to embrace a flexible mindset regarding our time together, as we must meet you where you are at all times. This sometimes requires us to meet more/less frequently than we originally planned for. Common treatment plans tend to begin with more frequent meetings (ie: 1x/weekly and/or 1x/biweekly) and can shift to less frequent meetings over time. Any changes to our meeting schedule will be discussed, appropriately planned for, and agreed upon.
Small Group Milieu:
Teen groups meet 1x/weekly for 53 minutes for 10 consecutive weeks. Additionally, two 30 minute individual sessions with client’s legal guardians is required, as the skills youth learn in group are important for guardians to be aware of and coached through, as well, since we are all on the same support team.
What can I do to prepare for my first session?
Getting started is simple! A secure “welcome” email and client portal link with electronic intake forms will be sent for you to complete prior to our first appointment. Please submit these forms at least 48 hours before your intake.
Telehealth appointments can be accessed with Wi-Fi on a phone, tablet, or computer, in a private space where you feel comfortable talking.
If the client is under 18, a legal guardian is required at the intake appointment.
Can I change or cancel my appointment?
Yes! I understand that plans can change and I will do my best to accommodate your needs, although rescheduled appointments are not guaranteed the same week of your original appointment. You must request to change or cancel your appointment by contacting me directly via email, telephone or text at least 24 hours in advance to avoid a cancellation fee.
Ongoing appointment cancellations can result in termination of treatment services.
Confidentiality and HIPAA – What does it mean?
Your privacy is very important to me. Under federal law, you have rights that protect the privacy and security of your health information. What you share in session remains confidential unless you (or your legal guardian, if under 18) provide written consent for me to release relevant information to designated third parties, such as school personnel, healthcare providers, etc.
There are specific situations in which confidentiality may be limited, including:
- You are at risk of harming yourself/others
- You are at risk of being harmed
- There is suspected/reported abuse or neglect of a minor, an elderly person, or a vulnerable adult
As a licensed therapist and mandated reporter, I am legally required to report these concerns to the appropriate authorities, which may include legal guardians, child protective services, and/or law enforcement.
